Award Winning
Grenadian Street Food
Welcome to Happy Hill Kitchen.
We’re Juliet and Sean, and this is our take on Caribbean street food, inspired by Grenada, the Island of Spice.
The name comes from Happy Hill, the village in Grenada where Juliet’s grandmother lived. Juliet spent many summers there, in the kitchen with her granny and aunties (tanties), learning to cook with fresh ingredients grown locally or picked straight from her Grandad Daniel’s garden. Those flavours and memories are at the heart of everything we do.
We keep those roots, but we also like to bring in ideas from the wider world of street food. So what you’ll find here is traditional Caribbean flavour, with a slightly modern twist.
Our cooking is all about balance and depth. You’ll find the flavours of nutmeg, tamarind, cinnamon, ginger, coconut, lemon grass and allspice running through the menu. We love to use chilli peppers (especially scotch bonnet), but it’s always about flavour first, not just heat.
We also make sure there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy, with a strong range of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and a focus on good quality, responsibly sourced ingredients.
Most of the time you’ll find us under our gazebo at markets, festivals and pop-ups. We also cater for private events, from small gatherings to weddings, so just get in touch if that’s something you’re interested in.
At the end of the day, we just love sharing great food and proper Caribbean flavours with people.
Come and find us.
